The trees will explode this week in Saint Louis with new life and beautiful colors. It is a most active time in the world that surrounds us. The energy in our classrooms builds accordingly. This is an essential time for us to focus on the best practices of learning that shift the students to the center of the classroom. This includes: creating space for kids to explore ideas in which they are passionate, maximizing positive movement in the classroom (brain breaks, cooperative learning structures), taking classroom learning to fresh spaces (library, common areas, and outside), and serving the school or community in a way that ties back into classroom learning. Partnering with the spring energy can make for a season of learning that is life giving for both the student and adult learners.
