Is your classroom more commercials than big game?

As I watched the Super Bowl, it had me thinking about classrooms all over America. In many classrooms, there is the same intensity that we saw on the field from both teams throughout the game. There is a focus from the start to the finish. There are people playing their roles. There is a desire to do well at the end. In other classrooms, there is a feel that resembles the commercials? There are short, but impressive messages everywhere. There is an incredible amount of creativity to be seen. There are moments where conversations start that last for days or weeks. Maybe the right answer is that our classrooms should be both the big game and the commercials if we want an optimal experience for all of our students.
